Sit back with a cup of tea and enjoy

I enjoyed this book. It was a light hearted humours cozy mystery, with plenty to keep it entertaining and engaging all the way through. The story focused mostly on the murder, with just a little bit of home and love life to give the characters depth. I like mysteries like this because I am all about investigations, working out clues and dangerous or funny situations that they lead to. I find love lives and triangles annoying, so this book was perfect for me. Don't get me wrong the characters aren't two dimensional and they work well together. Especially the way Sam and her friends all get involved to help her clear her name. The mystery was good and contained a number of suspects and for once some very real possible motives for murder. The case gets nicely solved but gives you a hint at a possible new case or new series to come and I can't wait.
Sam thought the local town doctor picketing her herbal shop, claiming somebody died because of her was bad enough but his death might actually mean the end of her shop. After a very public argument the doctor collapses and with Sam close by the fingers don't have far to point. Sheriff Mallory is happily building a case against her. With so many of her friends having a reason to hate the good doctor it's not going to be so easy but with the very real possibility of losing her shop and going to jail she has no choice but find the real killer herself.
I liked the narrator. She gave each character different sounding voices so it was easy to tell who was speaking.
