He’s had a troubled past… but is he a killer?
When Gina Dunner’s brother, Vic, is accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend, Gina isn’t surprised. Living the life of a womanizing ranch hand with questionable friends and a lifetime of bad choices had to catch up with him at some point.
After the Sheriff announces she has the right man, Vic vehemently denies the murder. When he begs Gina to help prove his innocence, she attempts to put her doubts aside, despite him being the last one to see the woman alive. She and her rescue mutt, Daisy—a sweet, yet sassy, talking dog—start sniffing around into their own investigation.
Will Gina and Daisy stumble onto the truth to exonerate Vic, or will the killer come for Gina next?

Journey with amateur sleuths, Gina and Daisy, through the twists and turns of “Dog Treats and Death,” a tale of family, betrayal, and the enduring bond between a woman and her extraordinary canine companion.

The author brought the story to life with words. It had me both smiling and held in suspense as the story pro- gressed. I would recommend this book to others that also like a good mystery.
I loved the characters. I loved the talking dog (I wish I had one!). I found the whole story and setting absolutely adorable, and I am happy to continue reading more from this author.Excellent cozy mystery!Rating: 4.5 stars
This is an entertaining and enjoyable story. An amazing way to start a series. It's suspense kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The hilarity had me laughing out loud throughout the whole book. Love Gina and Daisy!!! I highly recommend reading this book and I look forward to reading more from the series. Now I'm off to read book two.
Dog Treats and Death is a charming cozy mystery with a clever talking dog! This well written, entertaining book kept me reading way too long. (I finished the first two books in one day!) With talking dog Daisy’s help, Gina steps in to solve a murder the sheriff thinks Gina’s brother Vic committed.
An interesting one in that Gina is not very good with people outside of her salon, but she'll need to learn to be able to ask questions if she hopes to help her brother. With the help of her dog Daisy, who she can communicate with and her new partnership with a local deputy, she may be able to help clear her brother of murder charges.Gina stumbles her way through finding clues but thanks to Vic providing some insights into what was going on, she does manage to figure out what happened to Phoebe.Their relationship was interesting. She is better with her dogs than her friends and family. However, she does step out of her comfort zone to help her brother.
