Nailing a murderer is difficult… but so is dealing with a cranky talking dog.

When the owner of Hammer and Nail Hardware is found dead, Gina's most loyal customer, Erika, becomes the prime suspect.

Despite having every reason to kill Molly Burton, Erika vehemently denies involvement and pleads with Gina to help uncover the real murderer. With almost all evidence pointing to Erika, Gina and her talking dog, Daisy, along with Deputy Trevor Hutchinson, delve into the secrets concealed behind the aisles of the hardware store. However, the clues they unearth leave them with more questions than answers.

Adding to the chaos, Gina takes in a bonded pair of dogs who prefer solitude. Daisy is determined to break them up, despite Gina's pleas to let them be.

As danger escalates, can Gina and Daisy hammer out the details and expose the true murderer?

Twists and turns!

The local hardware store owner is murdered and one of Gina’s customers is the prime suspect. She will only talk to Gina. Deputy Trevor Hutchinson brings Gina to the station where, in spite of the evidence, Erika maintains her innocence. The suspect list grows as Trevor and Gina pursue a tangle of clues. This mystery has twists and turns. Incorporating the problems with Gina’s new foster dogs added another depth to the plot. I received an advance copy but my review is honest and voluntary.

Quirky mystery with lots of suspects and motives!

In Furballs and Fatalities, Gina and Daisy work with deputy Trevor to find the killer when a hardware store co-owner is murdered. As always there are more rescue dogs along with plenty of murder suspects. It is always amusing when Gina has to talk to Daisy with others present! Daisy is really unhappy in this particular book. This well written book has plenty to keep the reader interested.

Fun Furry Cozy Mystery

Gina Dunner, is one busy lady. She owns the local manicure shop, has a business as a ghost writer and she volunteers as the local dog rescuer. She also has a habit of solving murders. Gina often tags along with the sheriff's deputy, a friend who might become a boyfriend. What makes the series different from most other cozy's is that Gina isn't truly the protagonist. The real attraction to this series is Gina's talking dog. Daisy talks to Gina telepathically, which means no one else hears her. The feisty dog always has something to say, and Gina's attempts to "talk" to the dog, when others are around are often quite comical. This time around, Erika drags her into the investigation when her boss at the "Hammer and Nail" hardware store is murdered. As usual, Carly Winter provides plenty of suspects and enough clues for both the reader and Gina to figure out the culprit. The secondary plot involves two bonded dogs that Gina is fostering. Daisy wants to play and the two will have nothing to do with her. Winter always includes quick recaps of the previous books in the series as a forward, so the book can easily be read as a stand alone. However I recommend the whole series to any cozy mystery fan.

Great Series!

I received an ARC and this is my voluntary review. This series keeps getting better and a good fast clean cozy. Daisy is a great dog and makes for a humorous part to the mystery. Gina is on the trail of a murderer to help a client who is the main suspect in a murder. I love the friendship between Deputy Trevor and Gina.
