I enjoyed this book. This was a fun cosy mystery which wasn't to complicated to follow along with, despite there being a number of suspects. I liked the fact the main character is an older lady, who was easy to get along with unless you tried pushing her around and then she channels her inner Cassie. She had a whole other life before moving to Heywood, a life where she killed people everyday on a soap opera, a life she would rather keep quiet, this made her an interesting character. I liked the other characters too and knew who I wanted to be the killer. The mystery was well worked out, although it did get a little bit annoying the way she suspected everybody seconds after thinking it can't be them. It was also nice that you don't need to know or be into using herbal remedies to enjoy. Definitely a series I will be visiting again.

But the death of her boss has her realing. Especially when a surprise in the will reading leaves her with the shop and makes her the number one suspect. This was my first Carly Winter's book. This is the first book in the Heywood Herbalist Cozy Mysteries Series. I liked to follow Samantha's sleuthing in this small town murder mystery. The plot is well crafted, interesting, and intriguing. Nicole Scott did a great job bringing this story to life. I am so glad I can write this review for the first book in the Heywood Herbalist Cozy Mysteries series! This was the perfect cozy mystery read on a gloomy weekend night. I read it in one sitting (a couple of hours). The story and character development were both good. I can't wait to see how things play out in future books!
I recommend this quick, fun, and easy read! It was a good palate cleanser for me, between romance and thriller books.
I enjoyed this audiobook the narrator is great. Lots of clues to keep you guessing until the end. Great characters I recommend this audiobook
Excellent start to a great series . Sam leaves her flailing Hollywood career behind and starts work in the Herbalist shop Sage Advice things go awry for her when Bonnie the owner and her boss ends up dead and the finger of blame doesn’t fall far. Hence the need to investigate quicksmart before she is incarcerated for something she has not done. A very well thought out cosy mystery that’s got charm quirky and humour aplenty.
