Fly the friendly skies with Patty. Carly Winter has created a cute cozy series set in the 1960's when air travel was glamorous and flight attendants were sexy stewardesses who had to keep up the image by keeping down their weight. In Plane Sight" is book two of the Patty Byrne Mystery series, but it can easily be read as a stand alone novel. Patty is thrilled to be in first class on a flight filled with Hollywood VIPs on the way to their movie premier. But when one of them dies enroute, she goes from flying high to grounded. Everyone is sequestered in a resort hotel, while the police try to solve the mystery. Patty is afraid that with all the rich and powerful people, the police might decide to hang it on someone less powerful- herself. This isn't Patty's first time trying to solve a mystery. She has an eye for detail and she can use her her people skills developed as a stewardess to disarm and charm possible witnesses. the main character is smart, and she is helped out by her roommate and her boyfriend, a sexy FBI agent that she met when her neighbor was murdered. Patty may not travel the Orient Express but she can solve this locked room ( or locked cabin) mystery in style.
I really am falling in love with this cozy mystery series. Patty is an absolute joy to follow, and something about the 60's setting makes it extra fun to get lost in. It definitely sets it apart from a lot of other series! This time, Patty's caught up in Vegas after a young Hollywood starlet is murdered on her flight, and the case gets intense fast! I'm already fascinated with Hollywood lore from earlier eras, so this was already going to be up my alley even if I didn't already enjoy the author. It really did feel authentic to the setting, and I loved getting to solve the mystery along side Patty. So many twists and turns! (And I got a giggle at Patty basically suggesting security surveillance in the hotel at one point.) Absolutely loved, and am looking forward to the next one!I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
What a wild flight! What starts as an exciting adventure for Patty, the chance to be on the crew of a flight with movie stars turns into a nightmare when one of them dies and they all wind up trapped in a hotel in Vegas while the police try to solve the case. Patty isn’t content to just sid idly by and wait as her friends and she worry if they’ll become convenient scapegoats instead of the cops arresting a famous or powerful person. The problem is everyone seems to have a motive and the opportunity and the shine fades from the stars the longer everyone is together in the hotel. Can Patty help Bill solve this one or will the killer outwit them all?
Great story! Love the setting of the 60’s and the age where flying was a top notch experience. Patty is super sweet, clever and has big dreams. Perfect heroine for the era I think. Definitely a twisted mystery, the solution is so cringe. When you read you’ll get it. I like how it ends with a hopeful note and maybe the possibility of more of a relationship for Patty and Bill. Regardless I look forward to more adventures in the sky!

These are my honest thoughts about this book.
I have always enjoyed Carly Winters' books. I liked this book even better than the first one in the series. Patty is working as a stewardess in first class in a plane taking some Hollywood stars to Las Vegas. During the flight, an up and coming star, Rose, dies, and the death is suspicious. All the passengers and crew are put up in a fancy hotel while the police - and handsome FBI agent Bill - investigate. Worried that she's a suspect, Patty searches for the killer. There are a number of possibilities.I really do like the characters in this series, and the throwback to the 1960s, when things were so different than today. I'm enjoying the budding relationship between Patty and Bill. The story is interesting and well told, and the story completely held my interest through the book. Looking forward to the next one!!I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
