An innocent has never looked so guilty…
When a girl is found dead at an all-night house party, the sheriff accuses Gina’s son, Jacob, of being the murderer.
Despite the evidence stacked up against him, Gina is determined to find the real killer and bring them to justice. However, her quest for the truth is complicated by two unexpected obstacles: the fluffy, blonde puppy that is now in her care, and the return of her long-estranged mother.
As she works to track down the murderer with her talking dog, Daisy, at her side, Gina realizes that her unscrupulous family history just might come in handy in helping her solve the case.
But how far will a mother go to prove her child’s innocence?

Loved them!!!!!
I’m just sooo in love with talking dog Daisy! Very entertaining, and well written. And of course I love Gina too, I connect. Relatability is a big thing for me and that’s done well. I recommend reading the first 3 books in this series first. Best book in this series yet!
Our favorite talking dog Daisy is back with her hooman partner Gina. Once again tragedy strikes in Heywood, another murder has taken place. This time it is Gina's son Jacob on the chopping block as the murderer just because he was found with the deceased.
Dealing with proving her son is innocent is hard enough but add to that, her estranged mother returns.
I love the conversations with Daisy, she makes the whole story fun.
I hope this series goes on for a while.
So I'll admit, this is the first book I've read in the series. I am sure there is probably back story and character development in the other books but I don't feel like I missed out on any of it by starting with book 4 in the series. Perhaps if I'd started with book 1 then I would be more comfortable with the talking dog. I didn't think I'd like that aspect ( I thought the FMC, Gina, was crazy lol).
I love that Gina will do whatever it takes to clear her son's name. Gina is not taking any crap from Trevor or the Sheriff. Although Gina is sassy, I do find her character to be likable. She loves dogs and even saves a puppy in this book.
I recommend this quick, fun, and easy read! It was a good palate cleanser for me, in between the crazy mystery and thriller books. I look forward to reading books 1-3 and any future books in the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Live stories about witches and dogs. Will follow series. Tired of all the cats! Really do like your writing style and way of getting inside the heads of characters.
