When the town doctor dies at the Farmers Market, it is quickly discovered he was poisoned.
The gossip vine turns its sights on Sam because she was one of the last people to see the man alive, and if anyone wanted him dead, it was her.
As Sam fights to maintain her reputation as well as find the real killer, she discovers that once again, her future is going to be deeply affected by her past.
Will Sam find the murderer before her life is left in tatters?

Finally got around to purchasing the last two books I needed in this series and glad to be able to purchase directly from the author!
I am so sad that this is the last book of the Heywood Herbalist series. However, it is a good one to end as the town doctor dies. If you've read the other books in the series, you will know that he and Sam have history and Sam is the #1 suspect. This is personal for Sam and she will not stop trying to find who did it and keep her name clear.
The story of Sam after Hollywood is a fun one to read. Everyone gets what they deserve, except for the terrible sheriff, Mallory. Too bad she didn't get her come uppeance!
The sixth book in the Haywood Herbalist series provides a fun quick coy mystery and wraps up the ongoing threads in the series. I first read a Carly Winter book last Winter when I read the Heywood Hounds novella, [book:Pipers Piping and Puppies|203272909]. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to go back and read the first series before continuing on with the spin off. These novels are a quick read and provide a few hours of delightful entertainment.I can't wait to dig in to the Heywood HOunds series.
Doctor Butte has been doing everything he can to put Sage Advice out of business. He may finally get his wish. Unfortunately, he is dead so he can't enjoy his victory. His feud with Sam was public knowledge so she is the sheriff’s prime suspect. Sam needs to clear her name before she winds up in jail for murder. This is a good mystery. So many suspects. So many twists. I finished it in one day. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
